Usage of SharedQ (shared queue)


Tasks of all users, who are sharing this queue, are visible mutually for them. In section Print, Print connectors, you can create connector with type SharedQ and during the installation of the device in Windows, you save the name of this created shared queue. The tasks of users will be visible to each other.


1) Go to Print>Print connectors and create new print connector by



2) Fill labels and set type to „SharedQ“, when you will be done, don't forget to save it

3) After this go to Users> Group list, create a new group by

4) Set the name of group, you can write there also description (it isn't mandatory)


a) on „Members“ bookmark you can write, who will be in this group (you can select departments, only specific users, or combination of these two options).

F.e. as you can see on the picture we have created group, where will be users from Default department and one user as well (who is not placed in any department)


b) on „Print connectors“ bookmark you can check, which print connectors would be allowed for this group.

F.e. This group will have enabled print connector for SharedQ only as it is the only print connector on the server for now.


c) When you are done, save your settings


5) Find your printer in Windows

Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Devices and PrintersDevices and Printers folder

By right click open the menu and choose „printer properties“.



6) Choose„Ports“ bookmark, find port which is using your printer and click on „Configure Port“.

7) Keep the same settings as you had (IP address of server, protocol), except „LPR Settings“. Replace your „Queue Name“, which was OptimiDoc to name of your queue and click on OK.

F.e. in our case it is SharedQ


After this setting you can see files with users, who are in the group, which was created for SharedQ
